Diet is an integral part to the well-being of people, but for infants it is exceedingly important for their development, drastically changing the course of their lives forever. What if I told you that with only one change to your infant’s life they could be taller, stronger, smarter, healthier, and sick less often, would you listen? If you wish to raise your children to their natural zenith, then lend me your ear and hear what it is I have to say.
I will speak today on the importance of natural breastfeeding vs the abomination called formula. Soon you will understand my disdain for these alternatives to nature quite well.
In every metric imaginable the naturally breastfed infant is superior to their formula fed counterparts. These metrics continue from infancy until adulthood and are highly influential within one’s life. Everything from the natural immune system of the child to their height, strength, and intelligence is markedly changed within the first six months of life through breast feeding. Based on several studies, of which I shall link two you can see that the two most telling visible results, height and head circumference are altered to a large degree.
In a study of 4999 British infants, children were measured from birth until their teenage years, followed by self reporting of adult metrics, children who were exclusively breastfed for varing periods of infancy compared to their formula fed counterparts. Unsurprisingly the children who were breastfed were taller by a standard deviation of 0.20, widening to be over 0.34 standard deviatians taller than their formula fed counterparts in adulthood. In adult men, a standard deviatian in height is approximately 6.35cm, or 2.5” Meaning these men were on average over 2.2cm or roughly an inch taller than those fed formula.
Depending on who you are, this may sound extreme, but consider that this is only the difference between one dietary change. This is an extraordinary difference the quality of one’s physical stature for only one dietary change.
Next in a studyof 172 Turkish infants, children’s skulls were several times from birth until the first six months of their life. The three groups included the breastfed, formula fed, as well as mixed fed children which included both breastmilk and formula. Unsurprisingly the children of the natural breastfed children had a much larger skull circumference than either group, with boys 1.1cm larger in skull circumference than the mixed fed group at six months of age, and 1.2cm larger in skull circumference than the formula fed group at six months of age. 1.2cm is exactly a one standard deviatian difference in skull circumference for infants at six months of age according the world health organization.
Let me repeat myself, in only six months, these naturally breastfed children have a skull size a full standard deviatian larger than the formula fed children on average. That is a drastic difference not just in size, but most assuredly in their cognitive abilities.
I could go on, but I will save you from the boring data. Breastfed children are stronger, taller, smarter, healthier, and most assuredly more fulfilled in their adult lives. Imagine what people could be if only they had an optomized diet during their developing years.
I often speak hyperbolically, so let me be clear. My recommendations for the diet of a young infant is as follows. A child does not require, and should not eat any solid foods until the first six months of age. Around this time three important changes occur in the infant. A mother’s milk is sufficient alone until this time, but must be supplmented onwards. The teeth start coming in, the K2 stores important for bone development start to run low, and heme-iron important for several functions and growth also start to run low. At this point, the point at which a child begins teething, they should not be silicon teething toys, instead give them beef which is tough enough to open their gums and shall meet all their iron needs. Next start introducing them to cheese, which, among other benefits, is rich in K2 sources important for bone growth.
I recommend breastfeeding the baby for at least six months exclusively, for at least a year with a mixed diet of beef and cheese, and intermittently for up to two years as you slowly begin to ween them off their mother and transfer them to other sources of food. This has always been the norm amongst healthy pre-industrialized socieities and has been lost in recent times with the rise of alternative foods meant to replace the truly needed. The answers to a healthy life are there if you merely look.
I speak on many topics, but children are the one component of the future you have almost exclusive control over. If you wish to bring forth a generation who is able to right the wrongs of the world you must create strong and thinking beings, capable of handling anything that life throws at them. Change the diet, change the development, change the future days. Your children are capable of so much, but you must give them what they need to reach their greatest heights.
In the muck of the modern world, hidden under a mountain of bad dietary advice and modern synthetic modified food replicas I’m here to help you. As always brothers, I’m here with you in the abyss.
I once calculated the average proportion of lifespan spent suckling in mammals and the figure I came to was two to five human years or more. Thank you for the wonderful article.
Thank you! The links to the studies are highly appreciated.
